A guided week around Ko Phi Phi Le should still be slow: stay on Phi Phi Don, use guided boats for the open-water days, and leave clear weather buffers. Reserve the anchor experiences, not every hour

Book your ferry, Don hotel and one Maya Bay boat day before arrival; retain free cancellation for the secondary water day where possible. Verify pickup coverage, pier, park fees, lunch, snorkel equipment and current access rules. Phuket has the most reliable Phi Phi search inventory, while Krabi packages are useful from Ao Nang; neither changes the fact that an overnight itinerary belongs on Don.

Days 1–2 — get to Don, then make Le count

A conscientious guide changes the sequence for crowds, tides and ranger advice; that is good seamanship, not a reduced itinerary.

Confirm the actual departure pier, park-fee arrangement, food, water and snorkel inclusions before the early start. Phuket products can be useful for mainland departures, while a Don-based stay needs a boat that genuinely meets you there. Maya Bay rules, including landing and swimming access, can change; follow rangers and the crew rather than treating a past itinerary as a guarantee.

Days 3–4 — slow Don, then choose a specialist water day

Walk Don Viewpoint or rest on the beach on Day 3. Day 4 is for one specialist boat: Bamboo and snorkelling for casual swimmers, or a diving/Discover Scuba day with the right briefing and medical checks. Do not buy a product that tries to combine every island, sunset and scuba activity into a single hard day.

A week gives you permission to choose carefully. Divers should complete paperwork, disclose relevant medical information and protect the surface interval; snorkellers should ask about current, visibility and equipment fit. If the sea is poor, keep the specialist day movable. No guided package can turn a bad-weather crossing into a sensible one, and Don offers a perfectly good beach-and-walk alternative.

Days 5–6 — kayak and weather reserve

A guided kayak trip can add a lower-impact water day when conditions are calm; otherwise stay local and keep the booking loose. Day 6 repairs a weather-hit Le or Bamboo trip, or becomes a clean ferry connection toward Phuket or Krabi. It is not a reason to attempt a wasteful round trip to the mainland.

Choose kayaking only after the local guide confirms wind and current are suitable for the group. This is not a replacement for a missed speedboat day; it is a quieter way to see the coast when conditions allow. If not, use the reserve for a beach, viewpoint or a simple meal near your base, and keep the final ferry plan unchanged.

Day 7 and the value of the buffer

Leave Don with a conservative ferry margin, especially before a flight, and pack wet gear separately from documents and electronics. A guided week handles booking friction but cannot erase rain, swell or changing park instructions; the empty slots are what make it sensible.
