This guided five-day Phi Phi plan uses Phi Phi Don as the base, one main Maya Bay boat circuit, a separate snorkel or second-loop day, and a soft day between them. What to book first

Secure ferry times and Don accommodation, then the flagship boat day. Phuket has the strongest searchable Phi Phi product pool, but choose an operator whose transfer and actual departure pier work for you. Keep Day 4 free until you see the forecast. Maya Bay and Pileh Lagoon are the priority; Viking Cave is viewed from the sea and Loh Samah access is conditional. The guide’s job is to manage the moving parts, not to guarantee conditions nature cannot provide.

Before boarding, check the actual pier, park-fee policy, lunch, water, snorkel equipment and the emergency contact. A live product search may show Phuket departures even if you are staying on Don, so do not assume hotel pickup applies. Maya Bay access rules can change for conservation or weather; a responsible crew follows the rangers and may reorder or shorten the stops.

Day 3 — a deliberately unbooked Don day

Walk to Viewpoint before the heat, choose Long Beach or Loh Dalum for a swim, and do not apologise for having no pickup. This is the day that absorbs ferry fatigue or weather changes. It also lets you compare tomorrow’s sea state with a clear head rather than treating every morning as a mandatory excursion.

Keep this day geographically honest: Don is walkable in parts and connected by boat, while Le remains a day visit. Use it to repack the dry bag, confirm the secondary booking and decide whether the forecast supports an exposed Bamboo Island crossing. A quiet day is what makes the next guided excursion useful rather than just another early alarm.

Day 4 — dedicated snorkel or private-style loop

Book Bamboo Island and snorkelling when clear water matters; select a second Le circuit when Day 2 missed a headline stop. Sunset cruises are good only when you still have energy after the water days. Diving needs a separate day and appropriate medical paperwork, so choose it only if it displaces—not squeezes into—the snorkel plan.

A guided operator is most valuable here when it has clear cancellation terms and a practical weather alternative. Read recent operational details, not only star ratings, and bring medication if you know you are prone to seasickness. The safest itinerary is still one that can swap a boat day for Don time without making you feel that the trip has failed.

Day 5 and the sensible next step

Leave Don with a ferry buffer and continue to Phuket or Krabi, rather than treating a same-day flight as guaranteed. Keep cash for minor pier costs and wet items separate from your luggage.
