When to go
February–May is generally the most reliable stretch for beach weather on the Da Nang–Hoi An coast. September–November can bring heavy rain and rough seas on this shoreline — build indoor and Ancient Town backup plans.
Hue, slightly north, has its own rain patterns; if your itinerary includes both, check forecasts before locking an outdoor tomb-and-pass day.

Neighborhoods / areas
The My Khe beach strip concentrates hotels and restaurants. The Han River area is more urban and convenient for Dragon Bridge views. Many travellers skip overnighting in Da Nang entirely and base in Hoi An (about 30–45 minutes south), using Da Nang mainly for flights and Marble Mountains.
North toward Hai Van and Lang Co is scenic driving country; inland west leads toward Ba Na Hills — popular, busy, and optional depending on your tolerance for theme-park cable cars.

Experiences worth booking
Marble Mountains visits, Hoi An walking or food tours, and Hue day trips are the usual package stack from Da Nang. Hai Van Pass motorbike or car tours are worth it if you are not self-driving. Ba Na Hills is a full-day commitment — book only if that style of attraction appeals.
If your country itinerary already includes a dedicated Hoi An day and a Hue day, keep Da Nang itself light: beach, one hill or cave stop, and a seafood dinner.
