7-day London itinerary with guided tours
A full week of London packages: Tower, Windsor or Stonehenge, Oxford or Cambridge, Cotswolds, and a farewell food tour — with live product cards.
Seven days of London packages lets you cover the icons and the classic day trips without building a train timetable yourself: a Thames cruise, the Tower of London, Windsor or Stonehenge, Oxford or Cambridge, and a food tour. It follows the same arc as our 7-day London self-drive itinerary with hosted logistics instead of DIY Tube and rail. Live Viator cards below show current inventory — open a few, compare inclusions, and book the scarce ones first.

Weekly booking priority
Reserve the Tower of London and your Windsor or Stonehenge day first, since both sell out timed slots in peak months. Add an Oxford or Cambridge coach day next. Fill the rest of the week with a Thames cruise and a food tour. Leave one afternoon unbooked for weather, jet lag, or simply sitting in a park. Two long coach days back-to-back will sour the week — separate rural tours with a soft city day or a food morning.
- Tower of London → Windsor or Stonehenge → Oxford or Cambridge → Thames cruise → food tour
- Avoid two full-day coach tours in a row
- Hotel pickup saves Tube time on early castle or countryside mornings
- Keep National Rail strike dates in mind when shuffling day-trip days
The itinerary at a glance
- Day 1 — Arrive; Thames river cruise evening
- Day 2 — Tower of London guided tour
- Day 3 — Museums and walking tour; free afternoon
- Day 4 — Windsor Castle, or a Stonehenge and Bath combo package
- Day 5 — West End show or food tour; soft day
- Day 6 — Oxford or Cambridge coach day tour
- Day 7 — Cotswolds day tour, or a soft morning; depart
Day 1 — Arrive and Thames cruise
Orientation by river beats a jet-lagged museum queue. A late-afternoon or evening Thames cruise past the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, and Tower Bridge is an easy way to get your bearings. Keep the rest of the day light and go to bed early.

Day 2 — Tower of London
A guided Tower of London tour with a Yeoman Warder gets you the history and the Crown Jewels queue-skip in one morning. Free afternoon around Tower Bridge and Borough Market. This is the cultural anchor of the week — do not dilute it with a full-day coach tour the same day.

Day 3 — Museums and walking tour
A guided walking tour of Westminster or the City fills in the history behind buildings you have already walked past. Pair it with a free afternoon at the British Museum or the South Kensington museums. No coach day — this is a recovery day between two bigger commitments.
Day 4 — Windsor or Stonehenge
Windsor Castle for royal history close to London, or a Stonehenge and Bath combo day for prehistoric monuments and Georgian architecture further afield. Windsor is the shorter, gentler option; Stonehenge and Bath is a longer coach day but covers two very different sights. Tell the operator ahead if you have mobility limits — both involve some walking on uneven ground.
Live Windsor Castle tours

Live Stonehenge and Bath tours

Day 5 — West End or food tour
Book a West End show for the evening and use the day for a food tour around Borough Market or Brick Lane — tasting-focused, walkable, and a change of pace from castles and coaches. This is your soft day after the countryside outing.
Live London food tours
Live experience cards load in the article for: food tour, borough market, brick lane, pub tour.
Day 6 — Oxford or Cambridge
A full-day coach tour to Oxford’s college quads and the Bodleian, or Cambridge’s Backs and a guided punt along the river. Both run as long but comfortable day tours from central London with hotel pickup on most packages. Choose whichever city’s architecture and story appeal more — both are strong options.
Live Oxford and Cambridge tours
Live experience cards load in the article for: oxford, cambridge, punting.
Day 7 — Cotswolds or soft farewell
If you have the stamina for one more coach day, a Cotswolds day tour covers honey-stone villages like Bourton-on-the-Water and Bibury without any driving on your part. If not, a soft morning — a last market visit, a park walk, unhurried packing — is the better choice before an afternoon flight. Either way, leave real margin for the drive or Tube ride out to Heathrow or Gatwick.

Where to stay for this itinerary
Pick a base near a zone 1 Tube interchange rather than a cheap hotel far out in the suburbs. South Kensington, Covent Garden, and Southbank/Waterloo keep evening walks short after long tour days. For packages that offer hotel pickup, confirm your hotel is inside the standard pickup zone before you book — many operators only collect from central postcodes.
- Prioritise Tube proximity over a view of the Thames
- Pack light for Tube stairs and lifts that are not always working (packing tips)
- A quieter side street beats a main road room if you are a light sleeper
Tickets, timing, and weather
The Tower of London, Windsor Castle, and popular West End shows sell out timed slots in summer and around school holidays — book before you fly. Pack a compact umbrella and a layer regardless of season; London weather changes fast and most day tours run rain or shine. Occasional National Rail engineering works can affect Oxford, Cambridge, or Bath trains on weekends, so build one flexible half-day into the week.
Guided vs independent
A full guided week is efficient and takes the planning off your plate, but it costs more and moves at the group’s pace. Mix with DIY city walks from the London guide when you want unstructured time. Day-trip shortlist without packages: best day trips from London. Independent week structure: 7-day London self-drive itinerary.
