7-day Singapore itinerary with guided tours

Seven days of Singapore packages lets you cover hawker food evenings, heritage mornings, and classic outer days without living on the MRT timetable or the immigration queue: hawker tours, Chinatown or city highlights, Sentosa/Universal Studios, Mandai wildlife, a Southern Islands boat day, Johor Bahru or Batam/Bintan, and a food farewell. It matches the arc of our 7-day Singapore self-drive itinerary with hosted logistics. Live Viator cards show current inventory — open a few, compare inclusions, and book the scarce ones first.

Weekly booking priority

Reserve Universal Studios Singapore and any Mandai wildlife package first — they sell out timed slots in school-holiday weeks and around Chinese New Year. Add Chinatown/city walking tours and a Johor Bahru or Batam/Bintan package next. Fill gaps with a hawker food tour and an optional Southern Islands boat trip. Leave one afternoon unbooked for weather or simply sitting at a kopitiam. Two full-day outer packages in a row will sour the week — separate Sentosa and a border crossing with a softer wildlife or neighbourhood day.

  • Sentosa/USS → Mandai wildlife → Southern Islands or Johor Bahru → Batam/Bintan → city walk → hawker tour → free day
  • Avoid two full-day outer packages back-to-back
  • Hotel pickup saves MRT transfers on early Sentosa or ferry-terminal mornings
  • Confirm passport and visa requirements before booking any Malaysia or Indonesia leg

The itinerary at a glance

  • Day 1 — Arrive; hawker food tour evening
  • Day 2 — Chinatown and city highlights package
  • Day 3 — Sentosa / Universal Studios Singapore
  • Day 4 — Mandai wildlife (Zoo / Night Safari) package
  • Day 5 — Southern Islands boat day OR DIY Pulau Ubin
  • Day 6 — Johor Bahru or Batam/Bintan package
  • Day 7 — Soft farewell; optional second food tour

Day 1 — Arrive and hawker food tour

Orientation through food beats a jet-lagged Sentosa queue. A late-afternoon or evening hawker tour through Chinatown Complex, Maxwell, or Tiong Bahru — chicken rice, satay, and laksa tastings, or a guided kopitiam crawl — gives you bearings and a first proper meal without choosing a stall alone. Keep the rest of the day light: transit card, hotel check-in, short promenade walk if energy allows, early sleep.

Day 2 — Chinatown and city highlights

A guided Chinatown and city walk covers temple etiquette, shophouse history, and neighbourhood context you might miss alone. Pair it with a free afternoon in Kampong Glam or a soft Marina Bay revisit — no coach day. This is the cultural anchor of the urban week; do not dilute it with Sentosa the same day unless you enjoy rushing between very different kinds of sightseeing.

Day 3 — Sentosa or Universal Studios Singapore

Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore packages bundle monorail or cable-car transfer with theme-park or beach-club tickets — book the option that matches your group’s jet-lag rhythm and appetite for rides versus sand. If theme parks are not the priority, keep it beach-and-boardwalk focused instead. Do not stack a border crossing after this day unless energy is unlimited; Sentosa’s sun exposure is the week’s most tiring stretch.

Day 4 — Mandai wildlife

The week’s wildlife highlight. Zoo-and-Night-Safari combo packages handle shuttle timing and, on some products, a guided tram ride or dinner stop. Coach or shuttle pickup solves the trickiest part of a DIY Mandai day — timing the transition from daytime zoo to after-dark Night Safari entry. Simple dinner after — you will be tired from a genuinely large precinct of walking.

Day 5 — Southern Islands boat day or DIY Pulau Ubin

A Southern Islands boat or island-hopping tour to St John’s and Lazarus Island is one of the few genuinely packageable “nature” days in Singapore — useful if you would rather not chase Marina South Pier ferry timetables yourself. Pulau Ubin, by contrast, is honestly better done independently: a cash bumboat from Changi Point and a rented bicycle cost a fraction of any guided product, and there is little a tour adds to a rustic, mostly car-free island. If a live island-hopping option looks good below, book it; otherwise treat Pulau Ubin as your one confidently DIY day this week.

Day 6 — Johor Bahru or Batam/Bintan

Johor Bahru packages handle both immigration checkpoints and a fixed loop of malls, hawker food, or Legoland Malaysia. Batam or Bintan packages bundle the HarbourFront ferry with transfers and, often, a spa or resort day pass — the highest guided value on this whole itinerary given Indonesian entry requirements and ferry-terminal queues on both sides. Pick one border crossing for the week rather than attempting both; each is a genuinely full day once transit and immigration are included.

Day 7 — Soft farewell

Leave day 7 mostly open: Tiong Bahru Market, a neighbourhood you skipped, or a morning at Jewel Changi’s Rain Vortex before airport check-in. A second hawker food tour works if day 1 felt too jet-lagged to remember anything. Avoid a noon tasting if your flight is mid-afternoon — browse live options, then leave margin for airport security.

Where to stay for this itinerary

Pick a base within two train changes of Marina Bay, Chinatown, or Orchard rather than a cheap hotel far outside the MRT web. Marina Bay and Chinatown keep evening walks short after long tour days; Orchard suits early Sentosa or ferry-terminal departures. For packages with hotel pickup, confirm your area is in the pickup zone before you book the apartment on the wrong side of town.

  • Prioritise Marina Bay–Chinatown rail access over a room with a pool-deck view
  • Compact rooms are normal — travel light (packing tips)
  • Confirm your passport is valid with enough months remaining before booking any border-crossing package

Tickets, weather, and timing

Universal Studios Singapore, Mandai wildlife packages, and Johor Bahru or Batam/Bintan crossings sell out in school-holiday weeks and around Chinese New Year or National Day. Book before you fly. Afternoon thunderstorms are near-daily in some seasons and can shuffle outdoor plans — build one flexible half-day and keep a hawker tour or Gardens by the Bay conservatory as an indoor swap.

Guided vs independent

A full guided week is efficient and removes every border-crossing headache. Mix with DIY neighbourhood walks from the Singapore guide when you want kopitiam time. Day-trip shortlist without packages: best day trips from Singapore. Independent week structure: 7-day Singapore self-drive itinerary.
