Leave one day unbooked around your two big boat days — both are full, early starts, and stacking a third excursion either side tends to backfire.

Day 1 — Arrive and settle on the coast

Soft landing: check into Kata or Karon, walk the beach, and confirm tomorrow’s pickup time before you sleep. Skip booking anything for arrival day — jet lag and a full week of packages ahead do not need company on day one.

Day 2 — Big Buddha, Old Town, and Wat Chalong package

A guided land-day package bundles Big Buddha’s hilltop views, Wat Chalong’s temple grounds, and free time in Phuket Old Town’s Sino-Portuguese lanes, with a guide who explains temple etiquette and dress-code rules at each stop.

Day 3 — Free beach day and Promthep Cape sunset

Keep day 3 unbooked. Spend the morning on Kata or Karon beach, then a Grab ride south to Promthep Cape for sunset — arrive at least 45 minutes early since this free viewpoint gets genuinely crowded on clear evenings. This is your built-in breathing room before back-to-back boat days.

Day 4 — Phi Phi Islands speedboat package

A full-day guided speedboat circuit through Maya Bay’s viewing platform, Pileh Lagoon, and Monkey Beach, with lunch on Phi Phi Don and a guide managing the queue at each capped-capacity stop. Pickup is typically 7–8am from your hotel.

Day 5 — Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island package

The drive to the boat launch, guided sea-canoeing through hidden lagoons inside the limestone karsts, and James Bond Island are bundled with lunch, usually at the stilted village of Koh Panyi. A calmer, more scenery-led day after yesterday’s longer speedboat run.

Day 6 — Coral Island and Racha Yai package or a free recovery day

If days 4 and 5 left energy in reserve, a guided half-day or full-day package to Coral Island and Racha Yai adds calmer snorkelling with transfers and gear handled for you. If the week’s two big boat days wiped you out, keep day 6 free instead — a slow morning on the beach is a legitimate way to spend a recovery day on a full week.

Day 7 — Cooking class or spa finale

Close the week gently with a guided Thai cooking class or a spa slot near your base. Time your transfer to Phuket International Airport with a buffer — traffic near the airport and Sarasin Bridge builds through the afternoon, and you do not want a relaxed finale undone by a rushed departure.

Tickets, seasons, and timing

Phi Phi and Phang Nga Bay capacity is genuinely limited — book both well ahead of December–February and Chinese New Year. Wet-season months (roughly June–October) occasionally cancel or delay boat crossings and pause Similan trips entirely; build a flexible day if an island excursion is a must-do.
