Leave one day unbooked around your Batur or Penida excursion — both are physically demanding and an early wake-up, and stacking a second big day either side tends to backfire.

Day 1 — Arrive and settle on the coast

Soft landing: check into Seminyak, Canggu, or Uluwatu, walk the beach, and confirm tomorrow’s pickup time before you sleep. Skip booking anything for arrival day — jet lag and a long Kecak evening tomorrow do not need company.

Day 2 — Uluwatu Temple and Kecak fire dance package

Day 6 — Free day or an East Bali culture package

If day 5 left energy in reserve, a guided east Bali package covers Tirta Gangga’s water palace, the Lempuyang “Gates of Heaven” photo spot, and the Sidemen rice terraces with transport and queue management handled for you. If Mount Batur or Nusa Penida wiped you out, keep day 6 free instead — central Ubud’s art market and a slow café morning are a legitimate way to spend a recovery day on a full week.

Day 7 — Cooking class or spa finale

Close the week gently with a guided Balinese cooking class or a spa slot near your Ubud base. Time your transfer back toward the airport with a buffer — traffic near Denpasar builds through the afternoon, and you do not want a relaxed finale undone by a rushed departure.

Mount Batur and Nusa Penida capacity is genuinely limited — book both well ahead of July–August and Christmas/New Year. Wet-season months (roughly November–March) occasionally cancel or delay boat crossings; build a flexible day if Penida is a must-do.
